New Formatting Options for Microsoft Forms

There are some exciting new form formatting options available!

When you go to your form and click on Styles on the top right, you’ll see some new options. Click on See More Styles and View All to see more.

You can select the backgrounds at the bottom, then use the styles on top to make them do different things. Some of them move – just use that with restraint. On long forms this will become very distracting. It will be fine on short forms though.

You can also customise them a little. Click the + sign to add your own background and style.

Either search for or upload your own image, then hit the Back button to continue.

The theme will automatically pick up the primary colour, but you can change it if you want to.

Now you can play with the styles using your own background to see how it looks. There aren’t options to centre text or change the date format, yet, hopefully that will come soon too.

Images with too much text will be very busy, so use graphics and colours for a bigger impact with some of the styles. So if I wanted to use one of our marketing flyers, I would need to use a more minimalist theme to get the best impact from it.

I do love those blue moving blocks though …. don’t forget to preview your design so you can see what your audience will experience.

And as for music on the forms – I can’t think of a scenario where I would want that…. just because you can do something, doesn’t mean you should. 😉
