3 Sides to Every Story

Stories … isn’t it amazing how they do the rounds and end up completely different to how they started?  We cause so much damage by spreading stories and not getting the facts from all sides. And people love to elaborate don’t they…

We would all be mindful to remember that changing the stories as we relate them ends badly for everyone and lives are ruined that way.  Are you repeating stories without going to all parties to confirm the facts?  If so, you are part of the problem.

We would also be mindful to remember that there are indeed three sides to every story, and the truth is that usually both parties were at fault in one way or another.

3 sides to every storyWhen you know it’s you (and let’s face it, we all know it when it is us), apologise immediately and do what you can to fix it. Don’t make it worse and don’t carry on the lie / mess.

If you’re the injured party; forgive and move on as soon as possible. Harbouring hate and revenge is not going to solve anything and two wrongs don’t make a right.  Besides, there is such a thing as karma after all.

More importantly, no matter what side of “the story” you are on, be kind. You don’t know what the other party is really going through.  It may be much tougher for them than you think.
