Seems that more and more clients are being allowed to have alternative browsers in their companies, and Chrome is a firm favourite.
If you’re using SharePoint 2010, there are a few things that don’t work :
- Importing a spreadsheet
- Upload multiple documents
- Datasheet view
- Sync to SharePoint Workspace
- Open with Access
- And formatting tables in Site Pages is just painful
But apart from that, SharePoint 2010 works like a charm in it. Just switch back to Internet Explorer to do the rest.

InfoPath doesnt play well with Chrome, the form dies in the browser and doesnt open the application

I had used it more with an old MOSS2007 system. It was interesting to try for a few weeks, but with mixed results. The confusing management of bookmarks and having “nested” windows made it feel like I was looking at the page through a straw. I ended up just flipping back to regular IE and juggling 2 windows.

@SPJeff–IE Tab plugin did not solve the problem with Sharepoint 2010. Did you try it? I was so hoping it would because i much prefer Chrome.

Try un-zooming (Hold CTRL and rotate mouse wheel) until you see the scroll bars. It might be smaller than you would want to, but that’s the option I use. Font size changes don’t really work when you want to make only fonts bigger, but try to play and see if it works for you. Chrome>Settings>Show Advanced Settings and then Web Content font size.

I usually do a F5 (refresh the page) thing. If it still doesn’t work, revert back to IE.

When I view SP2010 sites with Chrome, the scrollbar disappears. I have no way to scroll down and see the rest of the page. Any ideas?

Koen – I just tried to sign in onto my SharePoint sites using Safari – the first time I sign in it lets me, but the second I click any link on the page, it starts prompting me for username and password telling me the one I entered is incorrect. Cannot get past the initial login at all.
On the plus side, at least Office 365 works on it.

IETab extension does open up a lot of functionality, do note that InfoPath still only works 100% in IE.

Cool, thanks Veronique! Another option to consider is IETab, a plug-in for Chrome. I know … it’s not really Chrome … but it can be nice to take advantage of Chrome’s bookmark sync and other features while setting up certain DNS host headers to be handed with the IE experience.
